WILLIAM JENNINGS BRYAN
Democratic Nominee for President in 1896, 1900, and 1908
HAND CAST & HAND PAINTED
You are bidding on a hand cast, hand painted figurine of Secretary of State, Nebraska Congressman, and three-time presidential nominee William Jennings Bryan made to match the classic collectible Marx Toy Company President figures of the 1950s and 60s. It is 60mm tall (about 2 3/4 inches), weighs about an ounce, is cast from a resin plastic, and is painted with enamel paint. Each figurine is individually and sequentially numbered. As collectors know, during the run of their presidential figure series, Marx made several prototype figurines of candidates in the event that they actually won the presidency. These figures include Adlai Stevenson, Barry Goldwater, and Hubert Humphrey. Although they were never sold directly to the general public, many have found their way into the collector marketplace. The Humphrey figure appears on eBay weekly and unpainted figures of Stevenson and Goldwater (in two poses) also show up on occasion. This figurine picks up where the Marx prototypes left off.
Elsewhere in this store you'll find every other major party presidential nominee since 1944, the U.S. presidents that Marx never made, a set of Supreme Court figurines, and a series of Famous American figurines.
