COMPLETE SET OF FIGURINES OF THE JUSTICES OF THE UNITED STATES SUPREME COURT, 1930-37
"THE NINE OLD MEN"
INDIVIDUALLY NUMBERED, HAND CAST, & HAND PAINTED
This is a complete set of figurines of Chief Justices Charles Evans Hughes and the eight associate justices who served on the Court from 1930 to 1937. Known as "The Nine Old Men," they were the inspiration for President Franklin Roosevelt's Court packing plan. In addition to Chief Justice Hughes, the figurine set includes Willis Van Devanter, James McReynolds, Louis Brandeis, George Sutherland, Pierce Butler, Harlan F. Stone, Owen Roberts, and Benjamin Cardozo.
These figurines are made to match the classic collectible Marx Toy Company figures of the 1950s and 60s. They are 60mm tall (about 2 3/4 inches), weigh about an ounce each, are cast from a resin plastic, and are painted with enamel paint. They have the last name of the justice on the front of the base in raised letters. Each figurine is individually and sequentially numbered.
Elsewhere in this store, you'll find all 17 of the past Chief Justices of the U.S., and several dozen historically significant Justices from the court's history. In addition, there are the seven presidents that Marx never made, every major party presidential nominee since 1944, and a series of Famous American figurines.
