This is a hand cast, hand painted figurine of Chief Justice John Jay made to match the classic collectible Marx Toy Company figures of the 1950s and 60s. It is part of a set of figurines of all the Chief Justices of the United States.
The figurine is 60mm tall (about 2 3/4 inches), weighs about an ounce, is cast from a resin plastic, and is painted with enamel paint. The front of the base has the Chief's name in raised letters and the back has his number and the years of his service as Chief Justice. The photo below shows the figurine next to a playing card-size photograph of the Chief's official portrait. Each figurine is individually and sequentially numbered.
Elsewhere in this stpre you'll find figurines of all the other Chief Justices of the U.S., the associate justices currently serving on the Court, as well as a few historically signficant and recent Justices. It is the long term intention to create a figurine of each of the 111 justices in the Court's history. In addition, there are figurines of the seven presidents that Marx never made, every major party Presidential nominee since 1944, and a series of Famous American figurines including Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, Mark Twain, and Frederick Douglass.
