RONALD REAGAN,
GEORGE BUSH, BILL CLINTON,
GEORGE W. BUSH, &
BARACK OBAMA
38th thru 44th Presidents of the U.S.
INDIVIDUALLY NUMBERED
This is a set of plastic figurines of the last seven presidents of the United States made to look like the 60 millimeter Marx Presidents figures of the 1950s and '60s.
As frustrated collectors know, every day a set of Marx Presidential figures is auctioned on eBay, with the most recent president being Richard Nixon. Infrequently, the rare Ronald Reagan figurine appears that was made when he was a candidate for President in 1968. But Marx never made figurines of Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, George Bush, Bill Clinton George W. Bush or Barack Obama. Thirty years after the company went out of business, they never will. Now, you can complete the set that many of us started decades ago.
The figurines are each about 2 3/4 inches tall, machine cast in resin plastic, and painted with an enamel gloss. Like the Marx figurines, the last name of the president appears on the front of the base in raised letters and his number and term of office dates appear on the back. (Note: The back of President Obama's figurine is blank). They come packaged in the "supermarket promotion" bags as did the Marx figurines of the 1970s. Also, like the Marx figurine of unsuccessful 1968 candidate, Hubert Humphrey, this set includes 2008 Republican nominee, Senator John McCain.
Unlike the Marx Presidents, of which tens of thousands were made, each figurine is individually hand numbered on the underside of the base. Each of the presidents is also available individually and in an unpainted version.
Elsewhere in my eBay Store (called "Historic Figures") you'll find hand cast, hand painted figurines of every major party presidential nominee of the past 60 years, a set of Supreme Court figurines, and a series of Famous American figurines.
